Keeping Your Pets Safe on the Fourth of July

Keep Your Pet Safe Around FireworksFireworks are just as dangerous for your pets as they are for people, so be sure to keep your furry friends safe if you choose to celebrate.

  1. Keep your pets away from any areas where fireworks are being used or could fall or misfire.
  2. Make sure your dog is on a leash at all times.
  3. Advise children (and foolish adults) not to come near your pet with sparklers, and especially not to put a sparkler in his or her collar.
  4. Provide hearing protection or keep your pet inside if within hearing distance of fireworks explosions or whistles.
  5. Stay upwind of the display to avoid inhalation of the smoke.
