Fireworks are just as dangerous for your pets as they are for people, so be sure to keep your furry friends safe if you choose to celebrate.
- Keep your pets away from any areas where fireworks are being used or could fall or misfire.
- Make sure your dog is on a leash at all times.
- Advise children (and foolish adults) not to come near your pet with sparklers, and especially not to put a sparkler in his or her collar.
- Provide hearing protection or keep your pet inside if within hearing distance of fireworks explosions or whistles.
- Stay upwind of the display to avoid inhalation of the smoke.
