Former Atlanta Falcons superstar Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison after being found guilty of running a dogfighting ring and killing underperforming dogs. The maximum possible sentence was 5 years, and federal sentencing guidelines recommended a sentence of only 12-18 months. In addition to the sentence and sanctions levvied against Vick, he also agreed to pay nearly $1M for the care of 54 pitbulls that were seized from his property.
What do you think? Is 23 months enough, or did Vick get off easy? Leave a comment and share your opinion.

I think it’s a tough sentence but not a harsh sentence. Maybe he’ll learn something and be a kinder, gentler person … but apparently some of his teammates aren’t getting the message that Vick actually committed a crime and is paying the consequences. (Five Atlanta Falcon players were fined for expressing support for Vick in a recent Falcon game.)
No I don’t think Mike should be banned from the NFL. Its not going to make him a better person, because he is a good person. This is a young man who had never been in trouble before, a young man who was giving more back to the community than some people with much more money, even being present when giving, how many others can say that. Ok, he made a very serious mistake and he is paying his debt to society. Now how many of the people that want him banned are perfect and how many of them have never made any mistakes; they probably spanked their child, yelled too loud, talked about someone, just plain made a mistake. Stop being so perfect this man has a family and and on the real side in the south I honestly didn’t know that dog fighting was a crime I saw it being done so much; ok I know it now and I understand.Michael Vick made a mistake, like so many others, why is not allowed a second chance like everyone else. Just give him a chance, I really do believe he has learned his lesson, stop being the judge and jury and put yourself in his shoes, no one is perfect.
