Wellness, Resilience, and Community at 10,200 Feet
Wellness Is a Team Sport — Especially at the Top of the World
Presented by Kristen King, LLC, in partnership with Sagebrush Recovery
Living in Lake County means figuring out how to stay sane when everything’s working against you — the weather, the economy, the housing crisis, the isolation, all of it. We’re all doing it differently, and honestly, most of what works never gets talked about.
Leadville Strong Circles are just people from around here getting together to talk about what actually keeps us steady. You’ll pick up some practical stuff for sleep, stress, work, parenting, the annual “snow wars,” what to do when you’re on your last freaking nerve — and you’ll probably hear what your neighbors have figured out that works. Maybe you’ll realize everyone’s struggling with the same thing. Maybe you’ve got something that works great and someone else needs to hear it.
This isn’t therapy. No one’s diagnosing anything or trying to fix you. We’re just people who live here sharing what actually helps. If you need a therapist or medication or crisis support, we can point you that way. But staying steady doesn’t always take a therapist. Sometimes it takes knowing your community’s got your back and sharing how you actually make it work.
Every Monday we meet on Zoom at 6:30 pm. We’ll start with a theme or topic and then see where it leads us. We’ll wrap up at 7:30 pm or whenever we run out of stuff to talk about — whichever comes first.

What to Expect
We meet Mondays for about an hour on Zoom, and you show up or don’t based on what you need that week. No registration, just come. We usually start with a theme or something someone wants to talk about — like preparing for winter or managing work stress — but the conversation goes where the group actually needs it to. Sometimes everyone shares, sometimes one person talks and everyone else listens. Both are totally fine. You can show up and say nothing, and that’s cool. If you’re running late, just shoot us a message at admin@kristenking.com so we know you’re coming. And if it turns out we’ve covered what we needed to cover early, we’ll wrap it up early — no need to sit around filling time.
Who Leads This
Kristen King has spent the last 15+ years helping people figure out how to keep it together when everything’s falling apart — through coaching, crisis response, and a lot of conversations about what actually works. She’s trained in nervous system regulation and mental health self-management, holds certifications as a coach and hypnotist, and taught fitness classes for over a decade because she’s really into the mind-body connection thing. After nearly a decade living in the heart of Leadville, she recently moved out into the county — just in time to get evacuated for the Willow Fire and completely miss her first summer with an actual yard. She’s hoping next summer keeps all its drama on the Tabor Opera House stage where it belongs.
Partner organization Sagebrush Recovery brings hope, healing, and integrated behavioral health care to Colorado’s mountain towns through licensed clinical treatment, peer coaching, and community connection. Their approach is rooted in nature, nurtured by experience, and guided by heart.
Kristen and Sagebrush are joined by a range of co-facilitators — a rotating mix of trained peers, community members, and volunteer clinicians from Lake County and beyond — who bring similar expertise and lived experience.
Private groups for first responders, educators, faith groups, teams and transition-age youth, and other groups are available on request. Contact us at admin@kristenking.com for more details or special requests.
